Spoken Heard aims to be an article that promotes spoken word everywhere, on and off of dA. Aiming to get writing heard, for the first two weeks I am featuring two of the most notable spoken word artists (i.e. an elocutionist) on deviantART, from each Friday to the next. This week belongs to a gal from the Ozarks, SilverInkblot.

Gymnasts and Professors

Performed on her blog here: autumnbrontide.wordpress.com/2…

Superimpose is a personal piece written about a professor close to the writer and her characterization of him through the stories he tells of himself which don't seem to match who he is now. With excellent descriptions and eloquent diction, SilverInkblot performs her piece spectacularly, adding a great emphasis at the end of her reading.

A Firefly Jar Philosophy

Performed on her blog here: autumnbrontide.wordpress.com/2…

Fireflies was written impromptu and was subsequently recorded while the writer was sick. Adding a tinge of Southern drawl made the reading of this piece of prose exceptional. The final line completes the idea of disregarding the popular notion of containing fireflies in glass jars and resonates with grave undertones about the life span of pleasures and things that are only here for a few precious moments.
